My day was busy too, although hardly as eventful as yours, I am quite sure! I led an exploration team out to some of the ruins. They were searching for knowledge and artifacts from before.
[ While not officially an archaeologist, Sonia's research skills, as well as her leadership skills, benefited the team greatly, as they often do. It was, in her own mind, a perfect way for her to continue to Empatheias's growth and enhancement, and so she's smiling as she recalls it. Not a particularly exciting day, but a nice one, and productive. ]
But... what of the rodent clans? Over what were they fighting?
[ Between turns of the conversation, she makes sure to enjoy some of the food she's brought back with her. It's not that she dislikes eating, but the sooner she can be done and back to Gundham's warmth, the better, as far as she is concerned! ]
[Gundam does feel a bit of a hast in his own eating. The food is good and all, but the real treat comes from the warmth of the lady seated nearby.
He does listen attentively to Sonia's recollection. He does have some interest in the history and mysteries of this world, which only enhances his pride that Sonia has undertaken this pursuit.]

They were fighting over territory. The Dark Devas and the grand gerbils nearly went to war over one of the tube mazes. Luckily, I was able to convince them to stand down before any blood could be shed. With the proper placement of treats, even the most bloodthirsty of urges could be stifled.
Be not alarmed; I have already informed the expedition team that any cursed artifacts should be delivered to you post-haste!
[ After all, there is in her mind no one more experienced with such objects as the man sitting across from her - and all who live in Verens are, she is sure, also well aware of his many talents and skills! Even as she says it, though, a warm flush of pink lights her cheeks, as she is well pleased to know that he can find enjoyment in the stories of a day that was most pleasant for her.
Still more though does his own recounting of the turf war interest her, bringing a bright smile to her face. How like the Dark Devas and their new family to find themselves in such a battle - and how like Gundham to solve it with his clever ways. ]

As his hand reaches for hers, her own lifts to meet it, fingers twining through his with the same natural ease that seems to permeate every shared step they make in this world. ]

[ It's hardly the first time she's thought it, but perhaps the first she's said it aloud. After all, she knows how protective the small, fierce creatures are of their master, and she remembers all too well classmates - mostly Soda, to be fair - being bitten on some occasion or another. Yet they have always been kind to her. ]
It is... [ How can she put such complex feelings into words? ] I am happy.
[It's touching, how much she wants to help him. He never imagined he could find someone so dedicated, so kind and so in line with his ideals until he met Sonia. And so their hands link together almost like an unconscious gesture, and a little more warmth is generated in the room.]

After everything that happenedโ [ the story he told her upon her arrival in Verens, the truth of their existence, the memories of which have started to slowly eke their way back into her mind during their time here ] โI thought it would never again be possible for me, either. And yet...
[ Her hand slips from his, reaching across a little further - a slight stretch - so that her fingers can brush along the side of his cheek. ]

[Even if it weren't for the energy of Empatheias causing the warmth of their emotions to radiate through the room, Gundam still feels confident that he would be able to feel the softness of her feelings in this moment. He never knew that he would yearn for a moment as tender as this.]

The thought has crossed Sonia's mind many a timeโ after all, she is here more often than she is her own place, the vast majority of her free time spent in his company and that of his charges. But regardless, the suggestion is met with a smile that literally beams, gleams of sunlight sparkling around her lips as she squeezes his hand more tightly in hers. ]

Of late, she's come to miss him before she even leaves for the night, and so this... this is like a dream come true.
The smile doesn't leave her expression as she too leans closer, pressing a soft, chaste kiss against his mouth. And then, she lingers, still close to him as she answers his comment. ]
[Sharing everything with Sonia... At this point, it feels right. Like a natural evolution. And so too does the kiss that comes to him.
