This post is intended partly to act as an overflow for threads from Baker Street's overflowed thirst mistletoe meme. But I will gladly take any new threads as well, either for mistletoe or general winter shenanigans!

For some winter prompts, this meme has some! And with the mistletoe, it can either be ordinary or magical, and have whatever sorts of requirements would make the thread the most fun! My only real preference is that I won't write out any sex. Beyond that, go wild and be merry, everyone!

O-oh! [That's all he can say at first in response to all of that - from the gentle squeeze to his calloused to hands to her words about him and that peck on his cheek. His eyes widen and his cheeks flush in response.]

Well... I feel really lucky right now! [Gumshoe says with a nervous chuckle. It feels like the butterflies are multiplying in his stomach.

Then there's a pause as he tries to move. ...And the lack of movement at all in that pause should be very telling in itself, and his smile fades a little.]

...D-darnit. Sorry, Lieutenant, but I don't think that even that's working!

[Well, it was worth a shot.

It's nice enough under the mistletoe with Gumshoe that she doesn't mind lingering around a bit longer, though part of her feels a little guilty over how nervous the poor man looks.

Her lips tug downwards, apologetic.]

You don't have a girlfriend back home that'll mind, do you?

[Accidentally stepping on someone's relationship is not high on her list of things to accomplish tonight.]

[He hadn't expected that question, but he's quick to answer.]

A- a girlfriend?! Nope! Nothing like that, Lieutenant.

[He does deflate a little as he recalls the image of Maggey Byrde.]

There's... one girl back home, who I like a lot. But I dunno if she feels the same way, y'know? And being stuck here in ALISTAIR for so long, I don't know if I even feel the same anymore. It's all so blurry! E-specially because, now...

[He pauses for a moment and swallows as he tries to summon the willpower to speak. His cheeks growing rosier, Gumshoe manages to meet her eyes and slowly speaks.]
